I feel that when a person tells an aide who comes into their home what it is that they would like for them to do with the client, those things should be done. What I found in my experience with the agency was each day that I came home from work, they were seated in a chair or on a sofa, and they were not engaging the client in conversation.
I had a whole container with games in it. It also had word search books and books they could have been reading to her from. They weren't doing any of that. That was another reason I discontinued services.  It didn't have an impact one way or another. It wasn't negative, but it wasn't all that positive either. The main thing they did for me was they allowed me to go to work for 5 hours. They were more like a babysitter or a care sitter. The client's medications were given to her by me. For washing her face and brushing her teeth, I helped her with that before they even arrived each day. They said they gave her a bed bath, and they changed her when she needed changing, but 

They're reliable.  They help him safety-wise. 

They were very easy to work with, very nice.  We were very pleased. It gave us peace of mind to have them there at night.
